By answering these questions, you'll be able to choose between four different types of pants breaks: 

Slight break

The slight break at the top of the shoes is a fashionable style for today's businessmen and women. It looks great with tapered-leg jeans or slim-fit pants. Slight break is modern and trendy for fashion forward professionals! 

Medium break

This pant break, which is also called a "half break," cuts off at approximately one- third of the length of your shoe. It goes nicely with a normal dress shirt and a coat or suit blazer for a business-casual look. Straight-leg chinos and a medium break look great together.

Full Break

The wide-legged pants with a full break is a striking traditional look. A full break gives maximum length to pants as a lot of the fabric pools and folds at the ankle. Using a full break on loose, pleated dress pants with a large leg opening is the finest option. Back in the 1920s and 1930s, pants were worn with more material to show greater strength and luxury.

The full break is a good option for a traditional look touched with elegance and style. 

No Break or Cropped Hem:

No-break hems look great with both slim and full-cut pants. This break style has the bottom of the pants just touching the top of the shoes. No break hems look great with slim and full-cut pants. 

If you have a trendy suit or thin and tapered pants, the cropped hem style is a sound choice. The cropped hem ends 1-2 inches over the shoe. It might not be the best choice if the leg opening is too  wide with a fuller or straight leg cut.
